About

Hello and welcome! I’m Jo, the voice behind DIY Travel Blog.

If you’ve ever wanted to plan your own trips but felt overwhelmed by the details, you’re in the right place!
My goal is simple: to show you that creating memorable, budget-friendly holidays is easier than you think.

Who I Am?
I live in beautiful Somerset, UK, with my husband, our three grown-up children, and our dog. Life here for me, is a mix of running our family Christmas tree farm, working with adults with disabilities, and squeezing in as much travel as I possibly can. Travel has always been my way of recharging, connecting with my family, and discovering the world one trip at a time.

Why I Started DIY Travel Blog

After years of planning our own adventures – from European city breaks to family ski trips and road trips abroad – I realised how much knowledge I’d built up. Friends would often ask, “How do you find such cheap flights?” or “Can you share your itinerary?”
That’s how DIY Travel Blog was born: a space to share what I’ve learned so you can confidently plan your own getaways, without spending a fortune or relying on travel agents.
You can read My Story here!
