MS Roof Top offers a relaxed setting with perfect views of the Acropolis. Flowers and fairy-lights create a magical vibe. It’s more low-key than some of the busier rooftops, which makes it perfect for a calm evening and conversation. Expect creative cocktails, a good wine list. We enjoyed dinner here too.

2. 360 Cocktail Bar (Recommended by our local guide)

Lively, fun and always buzzing – 360 is one of Athens’ most popular rooftop bars. We came here for morning coffees to get some daytime views of the Acropolis. The cocktails are colourful and creative, and the views are unbeatable. It can get busy, so arrive to get a prime spot on the terrace.

3. A for Athens
📍 Inside the A for Athens hotel.
✨Atmosphere: Chic, slightly more upscale, perfect for date night.
This is the bar you’ve probably seen all over Instagram and for good reason. The Acropolis feels almost within touching distance, and the rooftop has a chic, romantic vibe. Cocktails are beautifully made and there’s a good selection of spirits too.
🍹 Drinks: Classic and modern cocktails, good range of spirits. Cafe menu available too.
✅ Best For: Date night or a special evening. Direct, iconic view of the Acropolis – one of the most photographed rooftop bars in Athens.
4. Hyper Astro Bar
📍 Monastiraki
✨ Atmosphere: Trendy, youthful, with a mix of electronic and chill music.
Trendy and youthful, Hyper Astro Bar has a modern feel with music that shifts between electronic and chill beats. This is a great option if you’re looking for somewhere a little less touristy and a bit more “local cool”. To be honest, we felt a bit out of place here because we’re not trendy or youthful but the staff were lovely and I did get to snap that gorgeous picture. 🩷

✅ Best For: Lively atmosphere with a fun crowd, great for a night out.
5. Couleur Locale
📍 Hidden gem Monastiraki.
✨ Atmosphere: More local, artsy vibe compared to the tourist-heavy spots.
Couleur Locale is a bit of a hidden gem. It’s less polished than 360 or A for Athens, but that’s part of its charm. They hold events like Secret Gigs and art exhibitions. Locals love it for its artsy vibe, affordable cocktails, and great Acropolis views. It’s usually easier to get a table here too, which makes it a welcome alternative to the busier spots.

Stylish rooftop in Monastiraki with excellent cocktails and a more local feel. Less touristy, with fantastic views stretching over the city.

A creative rooftop with an artsy atmosphere. Often hosts live music or cultural events, and the crowd is younger and alternative. Perfect if you want something a bit different.

For a splash of luxury, head to the GB Roof Garden. This iconic hotel rooftop overlooks the Acropolis, Parliament and Lycabettus Hill. Expect premium cocktails, elegant surroundings and a dress-up-for-the-evening kind of vibe.
